Parade begins at 1:00 p.m. on Lamar east of LaBranch, proceeds west on Lamar, south on LaBranch (three west lanes), west on Polk, north on Austin (three east lanes only), east on Lamar, and concludes on Lamar just east of LaBranch.

TIPS AND REMINDERS:

Obey and cooperate with all Road Coordinators, Marshalls, Staff, and Volunteers. Rules and regulations are in place for safety for all participants.

Be extremely careful around all parade vehicle wheels (i.e., music truck, drink trucks, floats, vans, etc.)

CANDOMBE HOUSTON DRUM - SECTION
You are invited to witness the syncopated groovi-tude, which is groove with an attitude, obviously, of Afro-Uruguayan drum group Candombe Houston as they rattle downtown Houston. Candombe is an Uruguayan dance and music that originated amongst the African slave population of Uruguay. The ensemble, which consists of three marching drums: piano, chico and repique. ”It's a rhythm that's played by three different drums. It was brought by the slaves, by the African slaves in time of colony. PLEASE NOTE: Always read the posted signs, which supersede any instruction from park staff. Houston Police can and will issue tickets for illegal parking.
Streets on the park’s perimeter and nearby streets offer metered parking. Parking meter stations on each block accept Visa/Mastercard and cash. Be sure to pay at the correct meter station. DO NOT park in valet zones, or commercial zones (red meters). Parking lanes may be closed for construction, mobility or other reasons, so PLEASE READ the posted signs when you park!
